We believe that no one should miss out on what our unique coastal island has to offer, from the gorgeous ocean views and our marvellous 1920’s Art Deco interior, to delicious locally-inspired food. That’s why we’ve opened our doors to non-residents looking to delight in a wonderful Burgh Island afternoon tea in our sophisticated Nettlefold restaurant.

 

 

Afternoon tea is served 12:30 pm- 3:30 pm.

 

 

To ensure the best experience, we kindly ask that you book in advance as we’re unable to accommodate walk-ins. Thank you for your understanding!

 

The dress code is smart, and if guests would like to dress up, they are more than welcome to do so! We often have guests dressing up in 1920s attire, which adds an extra touch of charm and fun to the experience.

 

 

Lunch is available for our resident and non-resident guests alike, between 12:30 – 15:30, served in the Nettlefold restaurant. Please note bookings for non-resident guests are essential.

ARRIVING FOR YOUR AFTERNOON TEA

Arriving at Burgh for your wonderfully-wild afternoon tea experience entirely depends on the oceans’ tidal behaviour on the day; thrilling! If the tide is out, you can sink your toes into the soft golden sand of Bigbury-On-Sea beach and soak up the inspiring views as you stroll over to our island at your own pace. If the tide is in, our iconic sea tractor will glide through waters to ensure you arrive for your afternoon tea at Burgh Island Hotel in style.

FINER DETAILS

For £55 per person, non-residents can enjoy a delightful Burgh Island Hotel afternoon tea with delicious nibbles and sweet refreshments in a beautiful island setting, or perhaps we could tempt you with a sublime champagne afternoon tea for £70 per person – the same divine experience but with plenty of bubbles to keep you giggling! We also have gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian options available.

We had a beautiful afternoon tea to celebrate a friend’s birthday. We were sat at the most gorgeous table with a stunning view. The staff were incredibly friendly and polite and looked after us really well, nothing was too much trouble. The finger sandwiches were all fresh and yummy. The cakes and scones were exceptionally delicious. We had a great experience and will definitely be back again soon!
