Stepping back to the 20's
Escape to our island for an immersive 1920’s experience and delve into plenty of roaring 20’s themed affairs. During the mid-week stay, guests can delight in a splendid Champagne cream tea followed by dinner and tantalising live music in the evening. To enhance the 1920’s atmosphere, guests can hire beautiful authentic attire from Cocoa Deco, including flappers, headpieces and jewellery – perfect for dance lessons on the second day! To wrap up the experience, entertainment can be enjoyed by a live band as well as by singer and ambassador of the Art Deco Society UK, Kate Garner, who will be performing a specially tailored cabaret show at the piano, singing toe tapping tunes she has written about Josephine Baker, Noel Coward and Agatha Christie, (all past guests of Burgh Island!)

Island Artist Experiences
For the notable art collectors, enjoy a unique creative experience of an artist workshop with the wonderful Emma Carter Bromfield. Allow Emma to guide you through her creative process and enjoy an opportunity to learn more about Emma’s work, taking home some techniques that will help shape your own artwork. For those wishing to extend their island escape, take advantage of a special bed and breakfast offer and savor a relaxing stay after your artistic journey.

For the notable art collectors, the Burgh Artist Residence is held by the wonderful Emma Carter Bromfield. During your stay on Burgh Island, embrace your inner artist and enjoy an opportunity to learn more about Emma’s work and perhaps take a piece of her collection home with you. A constant reminder of the magic of Burgh Island.

Live Music
Every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night one of our house bands will entertain you in our Ballroom. You are not obliged to dance, but you may be tempted! Live piano music accompanies all other evenings.

Cocoa Deco
To fully immerse yourself in the roaring Twenties experience at Burgh Island, dressing for the occasion certainly adds serious Art Deco glamour to cocktail hour or a romantic dinner in the Grand Ballroom. We’ve partnered up with Cocoa Deco to help our guests fall in love with the most beautifully restored vintage 1920’s attire. Cocoa Deco will be attending select events throughout the year and will be on hand to prepare guests for the fabulous night ahead.
